Staff updated the board that the ACE pilot and capital request-for-proposals closed and evaluation committees are finalizing paperwork for recommendation and intent-to-award letters. Christina said the final approval authority for grant awards rests with the municipal assembly and staff expect to submit recommendations within the coming weeks.
During the discussion a staff member and board members noted application volumes: one speaker recounted about 47'48 total applications for capital and pilot combined, with the majority of applications for capital projects. Staff said they would share aggregate application and ask totals once the evaluation process finished.
Board members asked timing questions and staff responded that they were working to get recommendation packages to the assembly "as soon as possible" and hoped to do so "within the next few weeks." Staff also said payments for operational assistance (a separate pool) are expected to start within about a month and a second payment round is planned for late fall.
The board requested staff provide a post-selection briefing to review what types of projects applied, trends in requests, and the total ask compared with available funds. Staff agreed to bring a consolidated summary once awards are formally recommended to the assembly.
No formal awards were made during the meeting; the board was reminded that final award actions will appear in the assembly process.
