In a separate but related discussion about local tax policy, a commissioner announced an intent to place an agenda item in the coming weeks to reconsider an owner-occupancy sales-tax reduction now that a statewide ballot initiative to eliminate property taxes will not appear this fall. Commissioners agreed to put formal consideration on a future agenda and to include Commissioner Danzo (not present) in the discussion when he can participate.
No final funding decision was made at the meeting; commissioners asked staff to present account balances and return with options and potential implications for other priorities and projects.
