The Milford City Council voted to hold a joint meeting with Milford Municipal Utility on June 16, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was set on a motion by Chris Hinshaw, seconded by Shane Hoffman; Hinshaw, Carney, Hoffman and Mohni voted aye.
Councilman Chris Hinshaw said he was concerned about the direction and scope of the MMU discussion and listed topics council members want to address: water rates, the utility budget, corrective actions related to rate-setting, the cost comparison between C900 and ductile iron pipe and developers' concerns about the cost differences. Councilman Shane Hoffman asked whether the City could assist in mitigating some water plant costs.
No formal decisions about rates or funding were made at the May 11 meeting; the June 16 joint session was scheduled to allow staff and council to explore options and gather information. The motion to set the meeting passed unanimously.
