Fairport board approves parade route, block party closure and routine fiscal actions

The Village of Fairport board approved a series of routine motions on June 8, including event permits, fiscal authorizations and appointments.

- Approved meeting minutes for May 11, 2026 and the June 1, 2026 work session. - Authorized the Fourth of July parade to begin at Whitney Road and Main Street at 10:00 a.m. and travel down Main Street, west on West Church Street to Perinton Park (final route subject to village manager approval). - Authorized the James Street annual block party street closure on July 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with barricades provided for the block between Briggs Ave and Halbert Ave. - Engaged BST & Company CPAs LLP to perform the village financial audit for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2026, and authorized Mayor Julian Damitz to sign the engagement letter. - Authorized payment of audited bills following internal review. - Amended a previously approved amount to $56,788.78 to pay June health and dental premiums and authorized the clerk/treasurer to pay an estimated amount not to exceed $70,000 for July premiums (subject to audit and board amendment in July). - Appointed Andrew Thomas Ozinski and Ethan James Ozinski as junior members of the Dand Hose Company of the Fairport Fire Department.
