State roundabout study could unlock sidewalk extension near Seaberry, committee hears

Robert Dickinson, a committee member, said the state conducted a statewide roundabout study that ranked the Wittenberry–School Street intersection highly and is advancing that work. "Since they are building the intersection for us, it gives us a little more money to extend the sidewalk to Seaberry," Dickinson said, describing west‑side sidewalk alignment that would connect Metaccomat School to Seaberry Drive.
Committee members and staff reviewed concept plans Dickinson shared and discussed the sidewalk routing on the west side of School Street and the connection to existing pedestrian paths. The committee noted the state project might include sidewalks specific to the roundabout portion (orange lines on the plan) that link to local sidewalks.
