Kanab City Library Board approves policy changes; director reports data migration and new programs

The Kanab City Library Board voted unanimously on Jan. 14, 2026, to approve changes to library policy during a meeting at the Kanab City Library. Library Director JanaLee Peay delivered a State of the Library report that included 2026 usage statistics, a planned data migration handled by vendor ByWater, and steps to address chronic overdue accounts.

Peay told the board that county library card fee revenues are being spent through the Libby platform and that the library maintains 2026 statistics in a spreadsheet for internal tracking. Peay also reviewed upcoming programming. Other events noted include a geology-and-trees program on Jan. 14, a movie screening (Smurf) on Feb. 6, the book club meeting on Feb. 4, a 'A New Year, A New You' program on Jan. 29, roughly 23–25 yoga classes (about 300 total participant sessions), and a STEM Day on Feb. 10–11.
