The City of Hobart Board of Zoning Appeals voted unanimously on Feb. 5 to table a use-variance petition that would have allowed a food truck to operate for one year at a property at 3700 Montgomery Street.
Petition 25-17, filed by agent Tara Piontek for a property at the southwest corner of Montgomery Street and 37th Avenue (zoned B-3, 0.658 acres), requested permission to operate a food truck for one year, exceeding the standard 16-week allowance. The petitioner and agent were not present at the public hearing, and the board did not receive testimony or additional information on operational details.
Nick Triana moved to table the petition, and Ron Jackson seconded; the motion passed on a 4-0 vote by the members present. The board recorded no favorable or unfavorable recommendation at this meeting because the item was deferred for lack of petitioner representation.
The board had earlier approved the Jan. 6 minutes and accepted the meeting agenda before considering old business. The meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
