DeSoto supervisors approve claims docket, budget amendments and bank depository; recusal recorded on DTPC payment

The DeSoto County Board of Supervisors approved the monthly claims docket and a set of budget amendments affecting planning, elections, community resources, emergency management, fleet and several capital projects.
Director of Finance Aimee Claire Holder presented the claims and supporting invoice documentation. The Board approved the docket under Mississippi Code citations governing county expenditures. When the DTPC Holdings invoice for $194,033.00 was considered, Supervisor Mark Gardner recused himself; the Board subsequently approved payment.
The Board also approved multiple budget amendments to move funds for the Getwell Road widening (SB2971), Ag‑Ed projects and other departmental needs, and authorized reinvestment of a maturing CD with Renasant Bank for five months at an APY of 4.00%.
Procurement recommended Renasant Bank as the main county depository after rejecting two bank bids for noncompliant forms or missing signatures. The Board accepted Renasant as the primary depository for a two‑year term with options to extend, and acknowledged several other banks as potential additional depositories.
All approvals were recorded by roll call vote where provided. The minutes show the Board authorized the Chancery Clerk to issue payments and the Board President to sign required documents.
