County engineer presents lengthy bridge inspection reports; commissioners approve ODOT-reimbursable invoice

A representative for county roads and CED presented bridge inspection reports and explained new reporting requirements have expanded individual bridge reports from a page or two to roughly five pages each. The presenter said the county’s financial exposure is limited: most invoice items will be billed to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation under reimbursement code 3717721, and the county is chiefly responsible for installing load-posting signage on affected bridges.
Commissioners asked about the increased technical detail and acknowledged the difficulty of parsing longer reports. After discussion the board approved signing the invoice copies so the county can pursue ODOT reimbursement and directed staff to file required paperwork and place any required load-posting signs.
