Finance Director Eric King told the council the city meets the statutory criteria (police; street construction/maintenance/lighting; sanitary sewer and stormwater management; planning, zoning and subdivision control; and water quality). King noted fire service is provided by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and that the budget committee already held the required public hearing on May 18 in accordance with the Oregon Revised Statutes cited in the staff report.
Councilor (mover) brought a motion to approve Resolution No. 26‑20 certifying service provision; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously. Council then approved Resolution No. 26‑21 declaring the city’s election to receive state shared revenues for FY27. Both items were presented as staff recommendations with no public testimony for either item.
What happens next: The certified election enables Tigard to receive its share of state distributions for cigarette, gas and liquor taxes under the applicable ORS provisions.
