Public Safety Commission says Matrix consultant on track; CAD data issues slowing analysis

John said Matrix provided a status briefing on June 2 and is working through data issues with the CAD dispatch system at the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO). "They still have some data issues with some of the CAD systems at KCSO," John said, adding that Matrix expects to resolve the technical issues and deliver a report to council by August.
The commission intends to gather community feedback at upcoming outreach events via QR codes, websites and surveys and emphasized the importance of CAD data for the analysis. John said Matrix analysts are experienced and the delay appears technical rather than substantive.
Council members asked whether the CAD issue was a formatting or extraction problem; John said it looked like a scraping/download problem and that the sheriff's department is cooperating on data retrieval. The commission will continue interviews and outreach and expects a recommendation timeline in August.
