Committee chairs and student advisers used the workshop to highlight outreach plans and procedural follow‑ups.
The Parent‑Community Involvement task force previewed parent universities, a multilingual Parent Empowering Parents Conference tentatively planned for September, and a nonprofit forum moved to Aug. 27; task‑force chairs said they will explore podcasts and YouTube as communication tools to increase parent participation.
The audit committee reported that its selection committee met and proposed quarterly progress reporting on the audit plan to give the board ongoing visibility into audit scheduling and emerging risks. Board staff said they recently transitioned to a new district website and that training procedures and team‑support requests will be presented at the Aug. 12 workshop so advisory chairs can obtain email and Teams access and improved web pages.
Student advisers reported confirmed student appointees to advisory committees, previewed a principal engagement packet designed to help principals implement student‑voice initiatives and described a ThoughtExchange pilot to collect quarterly pulse‑check feedback from students. They also noted Broward hosted the South Florida Leadership Training Camp with more than 200 students from across the state.
