The Port Jefferson Village Board on June 10 approved a slate of routine and capital resolutions, including personnel ratifications, budget transfers for year‑end close, and capital spending for parking lot repairs.
Among the items approved by voice vote were multiple resolutions ratifying rehiring and hiring of seasonal staff at the Port Jefferson Country Club and other village positions (resolution numbers 161026; 261026; 3661026; 461026; 561026; 661026; 761026; 861026; 961026). The board also approved a refund of golf membership dues in the amount of $2,986.11 as recommended by the Country Club Management Advisory Council.
The board authorized the village to apply for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Urban and Forestry Grant Program (round 17) as recommended by the village tree committee and authorized the mayor to sign required paperwork. Trustees approved solicitations for RFPs to rehabilitate basketball courts at Rocketship Park and to develop an independent master plan for the Port Jefferson Country Club; the latter resolution was discussed at length and ultimately tabled pending GEI engineering reports.
Treasurer staff presented budget transfers to correct overbudget line items in preparation for the fiscal‑year 2026 audit; the board approved those transfers. Trustees also approved creation of a new capital fund line for Salt Meadow parking improvements and later approved use of a Suffolk County DPW contract and a Laser Industries proposal for concrete curb repairs in the Salt Meadow lot (transfer amount $85,275 moved between parking capital lines to fund the work).
The board approved a resolution effective June 1 granting a 3% base salary increase for department heads and non‑represented employees.
Most motions were moved and seconded during the meeting and carried on voice votes. Where specific movers and seconders were not provided in the public record, the board used standard roll‑call and voice procedures to adopt the measures. The master plan RFP resolution was tabled for further review.
