Wickliffe says $137,500 ODNR grant has passed; funds earmarked for Kobe Park amphitheater

The mayor told the council on June 8 that a grant application to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for Kobe Park revitalization has advanced in the Ohio Senate and is for $137,500, earmarked for an amphitheater pavilion.
"The grants in amount of 137,500," the mayor said, and added that the city will provide more details as the state capital budget proceeds through the Ohio House and the governor’s signature. Recreation Director Tim Stop described upcoming events tied to the park and community center, including a concert series, a senior-center concert on June 16, and a movie in the park (Lilo & Stitch) on June 19 with pre-movie activities scheduled.
Council and staff also noted ongoing flood mitigation work at Sherbrook retention ponds and thanked a contractor who provided pro bono clearing assistance. No formal council action was taken on the park grant at the June 8 meeting; staff said they will report additional details on funding and timing as they become available.
