The Windham Conservation Commission reviewed multiple land‑use and conservation items May 14, including a Final Minor Subdivision and WWPD special permit for 101 Londonderry Road, a demolition and replacement dwelling at 2 Cross Street, and a request to install an in‑ground pool within the WWPD at 122 Brookdale Road.
Joe Maynard (Benchmark LLC) said the Londonderry Road subdivision would place about 100 square feet of driveway within the WWPD to meet required sight lines; commissioners asked that soil test pit logs be placed on the plans. For 2 Cross Street, the applicant proposed demolishing an existing three‑bedroom house and building a modest 1,280‑square‑foot footprint replacement with a new environmental septic system; commissioners suggested showing pre‑ and post‑impervious calculations given the triangular lot.
For 122 Brookdale Road, applicants John and Dannette Peck sought permission for an in‑ground pool and associated grading within the WWPD. Although the application stated there would be no backwash or drainage, Commission members recommended retaining a rain‑garden outside the WWPD as a contingency because of historical large rain events.
The Commission also reviewed routine conservation property items and volunteer work: a Golden Meadow parking/fence decision and volunteer workday scheduled for May 21; Fessenden Dam bench installation and a split‑rail fence approved by the Select Board; Campbell Farm mowing timing and bird‑box protections; graffiti removal and a proposed mural for electrical panel vinyl at Deer Leap; and volunteers coordinating clearing work at Fosters Pond and trail walks on the Greenway.
Commissioners did not take final land‑use votes on the subdivision, the demolition/rebuild or the pool during this meeting; each item will proceed through the usual review steps with requested plan clarifications.
