Windham’s General Services Director Dennis Senibaldi updated the Select Board on work at a recently discovered well on Nashua Road, reporting that the well ‘‘started functioning but could not maintain adequate flow,’’ and crews subsequently ‘‘fracked the well’’ to improve performance. Senibaldi said staff will design the system and evaluate options inside the concrete bunker to ensure sufficient water delivery, noting wells commonly underperform in summer.
Senibaldi reported the well currently yields about 22 gallons per minute. Select Board member Roger Hohenberger asked whether the additional costs remained within other bid estimates; Senibaldi confirmed they do. The Board authorized up to $4,500 for well expenses at Nashua Road Field; the motion passed unanimously (5–0).
What happens next: Mr. Senibaldi will return with a proposed design and any supplemental funding requests if required. The Board asked Senibaldi to coordinate with the Conservation Commission on related parking/forest impacts for other projects in the area.
