Lucas County approves subgrant agreements for $24.8 million Safe Streets grant covering multi-county projects

The resolution authorizes subgrant agreements to pass the federal funds to project-leading jurisdictions.
Commissioner Gerken moved approval; the clerk recorded affirmative roll-call responses and the board approved the resolution. County staff said some projects will be led by other jurisdictions and that the subgrant agreements are required to allocate funding to those partners.
The board did not discuss specific project-level engineering plans in detail during the vote; next steps are for the county to finalize subgrant agreements with partner jurisdictions and for project sponsors to move forward under the terms of the federal award.
