Drainage trustees met during the Monona County Board session on May 26 to review a contractor response to a Notice of Defective Work on Oliver Lake Lateral 1.
Dustin Wallis of Armodus LLC presented a written response dated May 21, 2026. Amanda Goodenow, engineer with ISG, said the immediate concerns are establishing vegetation through seeding, unplugging tubes and restoring the channel. Goodenow also reported that Nagel Drainage District is interested in an additional 200 tons of rock that must be hauled off the site. She said she will schedule a site visit next week that will include ISG, Caleb Rasmussen of MOR Engineering, and Dustin Wallis of Armodus to review deficiencies and plan corrective work. The trustees took no formal action on the item and tabled routine maintenance in the Onawa Drainage District earlier in the Drainage session.
The transcript records the presentation of the contractor’s written response but does not include direct quotations from the contractor. The session ended with the trustees planning the site visit to determine next steps and to coordinate remediation and material removal.
