The Gulf Shores City Council on May 11 authorized the Mayor and City Clerk to accept and execute a Hazard Mitigation Grant Agreement with the State of Alabama to purchase a 100 kilowatt generator for 205 Clubhouse Drive.
Resolution No. 7134 records a grant award of $81,508.66 and a required city contribution of $9,056.52 from account #39-881-61011, for a total project cost of $90,565.18. Councilman Jason Dyken, M.D., moved to adopt the resolution and Councilman Philip Harris seconded the motion. The resolution passed unanimously among officials present.
The resolution directs the city to comply with applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations as part of the grant assurances. The council did not amend the award amount or the site designation in the hearing; the city will execute the agreement and proceed with procurement consistent with the grant terms.
