Members noted Beaver Island Parkway and White Haven as recurring hotspots and agreed to prepare a motion to advise the town board to request signs in specific locations that meet federal and state guidelines.
On outreach, members planned tabling and literature distribution for National Night Out (timing: early evening, opportunities to show compliant/illegal devices) and discussed using existing banner and t-shirts, recruiting volunteers, and partnering with local groups to hand out pamphlets.
Staff also reported on planned mobilization for painting and seismic retrofitting work on the South Grand Island Bridge, with major activity expected after the July Fourth holiday and multi-year timelines for larger bridge projects.
