City details web redesign, records digitization and large parks projects for 2027

Communications, records, and parks departments used the workshop to detail digital, archival and capital projects planned for 2026–2027.
Drew from Marketing Communications said the city is migrating to a Drupal CMS with a planned go-live in November and will digitize the PAFER (budget summary) into interactive web pages. Communications is building a staff portal already in use and plans a public project tracker to show status of city projects. Drew said the website will meet high accessibility standards and that some accessibility add-ons would be additional expense outside the current scope.
Records manager Holly requested funding to digitize archival building plans and other historic documents (36-inch rolls require specialty scanners) and recommended evaluating vendor scanning, leased equipment, or a temporary staff position. She also proposed a citywide e-signature solution to speed contract routing and improve audit trails; staff said Acrobat/Adobe accounts are in limited use now and broader rollout will require training and role definition.
Parks Director Paul reported Momentum Bike Park is complete and has drawn strong community turnout; Ewert Splash Park infrastructure and ice ribbon work are underway with a projected October 2026 completion. Parks outlined RPT/ORLP grant-driven improvements at Par Hill Park, playground surfacing upgrades, trail inspections, and bench and wayfinding projects for 2027.
Next steps: communications will confirm hosting and annual maintenance costs; records staff will scope scanner options and return cost estimates; parks staff will continue RFPs and grant coordination for fall/summer construction windows.
