Council reviewed mower options and vendor relationships. Carson reported a Stotz/Tremonton demo John Deere model with an estimated price of about $3,600 could be delivered quickly; Trisha Arbon made a motion to purchase the John Deere mower from Stotz Equipment and the motion passed by voice vote.
Separately, Shiyanne Tipton presented three playground upgrade options and an overall estimate of $5,045 to replace rubber mulch, add a swing and install protective ground surfacing. Councilmembers urged local fundraising and suggested using Fourth of July event donations as a fundraising source. "We’re gonna try to just get it all donated," Tipton said; council asked staff to confirm insurance and installation requirements before procurement.
Carson also updated the council on Fourth of July plans: a movie-in-the-park on July 3, a community breakfast on July 4 hosted by Fire and EMS, and a planned helicopter landing. The council discussed generator and power logistics for event cooking and agreed to seek donations and volunteer support. Councilmembers highlighted coordinating power and volunteer staffing and asked staff to return with logistics and budget details.
