Klamath County commissioners approve multiple supplemental budgets, contracts and administrative agreements

Klamath County commissioners approved a package of supplemental budgets, procurement contracts and administrative agreements during their June 9 meeting, advancing funding transfers and vendor contracts across several county departments.
The board approved a supplemental budget for the District Attorney’s office that increases general-fund DA operating revenue by $20,000 and transfers $183,000 from general-fund savings into the DA special revenue fund to offset reductions in state grant funding. Treasurer Vicki presented the resolution and the board voted to adopt it.
The board also approved a COVID-19 pandemic fund supplemental budget that budgets transfers previously authorized: $60,000 from the COVID-19 pandemic fund and $100,000 from general-fund reserves to Community Development Planning, and LATCF funds to code enforcement, with no net new fiscal impact recorded at the hearing.
Other approved budget adjustments included a $134,000 increase to record higher-than-anticipated ONC land grant revenues and an appropriation for an unforeseen self-insured claim in the general fund; a $19,838 reappropriation for the clerk’s department reflecting additional recording revenue; and a $9,000 reallocation within internal services (HR) to cover higher legal and recruitment expenses.
Public Health reported reallocation within its fund to reflect projected fiscal-year 2026 expenses and budgeted a contingent $50,000 transfer from LAPC funds to the juvenile detention fund to address incarcerated individuals with substance-abuse disorder if needed. Commissioners discussed the contingency and approved the supplemental resolution.
The board approved administrative contract and agreement items: an amendment to the county’s merchant services agreement with WorldPay to adopt American Express’s new OPT program terms (Treasurer Vicki said there was no fiscal impact listed); a 60-month service and maintenance agreement for a copier purchased by the maintenance department (purchase price $1,948.98; overage per-copy rates disclosed); and a memorandum of understanding between the county event center and Friends of the Clamoth County Fair documenting collaboration through June 30, 2028.
