Joel Causey, director of land development with Lennar Homes, told the board that the current plan would require an easement from the Brookdale Commons homeowners association to create a roadway connection. "We would like to request to defer this hearing to work through a challenge with a roadway connection to the adjacent Brookdale Commons neighborhood," Causey said, adding that the company was not confident it could obtain the necessary easement and wanted time to rework a plan that would avoid the easement requirement.
The chair said the deferral was within the applicant’s prerogative and that no board vote was required; the item will be deferred until further notice. Earlier, a board member moved to adopt the consent agenda, another seconded the motion, and the board approved it (vote tally not specified). The consent agenda explicitly included the draft minutes from the board’s May 5, 2026 meeting.
With no additional business, a board member moved to adjourn and the meeting was closed.
