Board approves GMPs and contracts for Foss renovation, IDEA High replacement and other capital projects

The director of strategic planning recommended, and the board approved, guaranteed maximum price (GMP) amendment number two to Washington Patriot Construction for the TPS Professional Development Center partial demolition and improvements project in the amount of $1,595,975 (excluding sales tax), funded by the capital projects bond approved by voters on Feb. 13, 2024.
The board also approved GMP amendment number two for the Foss High School renovation project with Washington Patriot Construction in the amount of $6,797,736 (excluding sales tax), also funded by the 2024 bond. The board approved a contract with Qit Building Group Inc. for the IDEA High School Replacement Project in the amount of $3,157,874 (excluding sales tax), and approved pre-construction services with Korsmo Construction for synthetic fields, track and tennis court upgrades (bundle two) in the amount of $1,674,600 (excluding sales tax). The district additionally approved a ground lease (TSD 26-055) with LeMay America's Car Museum related to a garage/technical education facility.
Each item was moved and seconded and passed on the board floor. Board members thanked voters for approving the bond measures that fund many of the projects and emphasized the projects' roles in addressing school facility safety and modernization.
