At the June 8 pre-agenda meeting, the SAN ANGELO ISD board approved two formal actions related to technology procurement and bond construction.
LightSpeed device-management procurement: After a presentation from district technology staff explaining that consolidating services (filter/alert, MDM, classroom monitoring and digital-insight) under LightSpeed would yield an estimated $25,000 in savings compared with separate contracts, Mrs. Duncan moved to approve the purchase and Mr. Dindle seconded. The board voted to approve the purchase; the clerk recorded the motion as passing with six affirmative votes and noted Miss Cardina had said earlier she would not attend.
Guaranteed Maximum Price for Central HS waterline reroute: Dr. Brandon described a discovered 20-inch water transmission line beneath planned Central High School construction and said the city and engineers approved a reroute scope. The recommended GMP amendment for Package 1 is $2,841,464, which covers the reroute and reconnects and will be paid from bond funds. Dr. Mills moved to delegate authority to the superintendent to finalize and execute the GMP amendment; Mr. Dindle seconded and the motion passed 6-0.
What this means: Both approvals advance bond projects and district technology consolidation. The waterline reroute work is scheduled so that reconstruction can be finished before the 2026-27 school year begins; staff said the work is budgeted within bond funds.
Vote tallies (reported in meeting): LightSpeed purchase — motion passed (6 yes; Miss Cardina absent). Waterline GMP — motion passed (6 yes; Miss Cardina absent).
