HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Hagerstown Mayor and Council approved a resolution during a June 9 special session authorizing the mayor to file applications with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the city's FY2027 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds.
Council approved seeking $774,243 for the CDBG program and $350,424.94 for HOME, and the resolution authorizes the mayor to execute all related documents and for staff to amend the approved program budget as necessary to reflect final funding allocations.
The resolution was introduced and moved for adoption during the special session; the motion was seconded and the council declared the motion passed on the record. No roll-call vote tally was read into the meeting transcript.
The funds will be used under the city's annual action plan for community development programs; staff indicated they will return with any final allocation adjustments once HUD issues award notices. The resolution also gives staff authority to make budget adjustments to match HUD's final awards.
The council convened the special session solely to consider this HUD action-plan resolution and immediately adjourned the special session to continue the regular work session.
