The Todd County Board of Commissioners handled a large set of routine and substantive actions at its May 19 meeting. Highlights of board actions and outcomes follow.
Personnel and financial actions: The board approved several hires and personnel actions including social work interns and seasonal hires; it approved Commissioner warrants totaling $125,920.70, Health & Human Services warrants totaling $244,825.28, and SSIS warrants totaling $152,581.89.
Appointments and cooperative agreements: The board appointed Chris Lawin to the Todd County Parks and Trails Board as an at-large member and approved a Pheasants Forever Local Cooperative Agreement (through June 30, 2027). The board also adopted a resolution authorizing full-voting membership in Sourcewell under Minn. Stat. §123A.21.
Planning, facilities and property actions: The board adopted a resolution ordering repair or removal of a hazardous structure at 30957 County Road 104 in Burtrum, with a 45-day compliance window and county-authorized enforcement if corrective action is not taken. The board approved a conditional-use permit to establish a cellular communications tower (parcel 13-0025100) and awarded the Entertainment Pavilion concrete improvements to Busker Concrete for $26,000.00.
Transfer station and landfill work: The board accepted final completion of the Todd County Transfer Station capital project (total certified value $8,076,725.67) and authorized final payment of $201,198.14 to Hy-Tec Construction. It also awarded landfill seeding to Doucette's for $9,962.50.
Labor and leases: The board authorized adoption of the LELS-Deputies collective bargaining agreement for 2025–2027. A motion by Commissioner Becker, seconded by Commissioner Neumann, to deny the LPHA Lease Agreement Addendum failed on a tie vote (Becker and Neumann for; Byers and Denny against), so the motion did not carry.
