Todd County tables US Solar conditional-use permit after support from company and landowner

Tina Monson of US Solar provided information supporting the CUP application, and landowner Jean Greenwaldt spoke in support of a solar project located on her property. Kevin Winkler offered public comment raising broad concerns about legislation and actions in relation to the U.S. Constitution.
Commissioner Denny moved to table the US Solar CUP to the board’s June 2, 2026 agenda; Commissioner Becker seconded. The board voted unanimously to table the item, giving staff and the applicant additional time to provide requested information and for further consideration at the next meeting.
The board did not take a final vote on the CUP at the May 19 meeting; no conditions or findings were adopted on the record at that time. The item will return to a future agenda for further review.
