The Buchanan County Board of Supervisors approved claims for payment and authorized a temporary liquor‑license location change for the Buchanan County Fair Association at their June 1 meeting.
By motion of Supervisor Keith Wieland, seconded by John Kurtz, the board approved claims filed with the county auditor (motion recorded approving $182,054.24). A detailed vendor register was read on the record showing line items and vendors; the transcript shows a register total of $183,645.19 after those items were listed. Auditor Kris Wilgenbusch presented the claims register during the meeting.
Following the claims review, Auditor Wilgenbusch presented a request to amend the temporary location listed on the fair association’s liquor license for July 1–15, 2026. The board voted, on a motion by Wieland and second by Kurtz, to approve the amendment and authorized the chair to sign.
The board also approved an appointment to the Pioneer Cemetery Commission, adding Christine Dale Franzen to the commission by motion of Kurtz and second by Wieland.
