Asheville City Schools Foundation reports hundreds of thousands in program investments and scholarships

She reported roughly $2,500 invested in pre-K residencies, program-specific investments (examples cited for schools such as Claxton, Isaac Dixon and Lucy Herring), and larger high-school program investments. She said the foundation awarded $265,000 in new scholarships this year and reported a total disbursement figure for the year of approximately $438,800 plus $10,000 in award management.
Clayton thanked staff and community partners and encouraged board members and staff to participate in future cohort applications, residencies and engagement opportunities. The foundation's report was presented as part of the board's "good news" and community-partner recognition.
District members thanked the foundation for its support; no formal action was taken on the foundation report.
