Falcon Heights seeks more hosts for July Lawn & Garden Tour; staff to boost outreach and report on development updates

Staff and council liaisons also updated commissioners on Fairway Commons, the Get Pressed purchase, upcoming Spring Together and a Les Bolstad advisory committee meeting.
Staff Liaison Myhren reported that, as of May 11, there was only one sign-up for the July Lawn & Garden Tour and asked commissioners for help promoting additional hosts. Myhren agreed to email former participants and to increase promotion in the city newsletter following the Spring Together event. Commissioner Beth Mercer-Taylor said she would look into involving the Native American Medicine Garden as a potential tour site.
In her staff report Myhren also provided updates on the Fairway Commons development and the Get Pressed purchase and reminded commissioners about the Spring Together event. Council Liaison May said the Community Advisory Committee for the Les Bolstad Golf Course redevelopment will hold its first meeting on May 20 and announced a July 6 event at the Philando Castille Peace Garden followed by a picnic at City Hall.
Commissioner Monika Chandler moved to adjourn at 8:18 p.m.; the motion passed by consent. The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 8, 2026.
