The board voted to adopt Resolution 1168, a 180‑school‑day waiver for transitional kindergarten that replaces nine classroom days with student‑led conferences and teacher collaboration; Resolution 1169, a 180‑school‑day waiver to allow incoming ninth graders at Einpah High School a full day on campus; and Resolution 1170, which approves the GMP amendment tied to ongoing construction projects. Each resolution was introduced by the chair, moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.
Board members also approved a special inspections and testing contract intended to verify that construction materials and work meet applicable codes and specifications as part of project oversight. The board discussed the contract briefly before approving the motion.
In a separate vote the board named the district's new Elementary School No. 6 the "Evergreen Trail Blazers." Board members said a naming committee considered more than 250 suggestions and recommended three finalists; the board approved the committee's choice by voice vote.
The meeting also included routine policy second readings, approval of payroll and vouchers, and passage of the consent agenda covering personnel actions, curriculum adoption proposals and surplus items. Across the votes the chair called for voice votes; the record shows affirmative responses and no recorded opposition.
Next steps: the approved GMP amendment and the special inspections contract move forward under the district's procurement and construction oversight processes; the new school name will be implemented in signage and communications.
