The Los Altos City Council unanimously adopted a resolution on June 9 approving the FY2026–27 report of sewer service charges and directing the filing of those charges for collection by the county tax collector.
Senior civil engineer Jho explained the charges are the fourth year of a five‑year rate structure adopted in 2023 and are intended to recover operations, maintenance and capital improvement costs for the sewer system. The city published the required notices and mailed postcard notifications to property owners; staff reported no protests had been filed as of the hearing.
Council opened and closed the public hearing with no speakers and then voted to adopt the resolution. Councilmember Weinberg moved the resolution; the motion was seconded and carried with recorded 'yes' votes from Councilmembers Daly, Weinberg, Vice Mayor Lang and Mayor Meadows.
What this means: the approved charges will appear on property tax bills for collection by the county tax assessor as directed by council. The rates follow the five‑year structure that the council previously adopted and fund sewer system O&M and capital needs.
