Committee backs renaming of 60th and Baltimore Park to Tyrone K. Sims Park

Susan Slawson, Commissioner of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, testified that the Department supports the measure and respectfully requested committee approval. "The Department of Parks and Recreation supports this measure and accordingly I respectfully request that the committee approve bill number 260382," Slawson said.
There were no competing witnesses and no substantive questions from the committee. The committee later voted to report bill 260382 from committee with a favorable recommendation and to request suspension of the rules to permit first reading at the next Council session.
The bill will proceed to the Council calendar for first reading.
