Van Buren supervisors adopt Mt. Sterling sewer-rate amendment, accept resignation and name Floodplain Appeal Board members

The Board adopted Ordinance #2013-2 Amendment #13 to the Mt. Sterling Sewer System Rate Ordinance, accepted a resignation from a part-time dispatcher/jailer, approved appointments to the Floodplain Appeal Board, and approved payroll and claims and manure management plan updates.
On motion by Supervisor Meek and seconded by Supervisor House, the Board adopted Van Buren County Ordinance #2013-2, Amendment #13, the Mt. Sterling Sewer System Rate Ordinance amendment, which had been adopted April 27 and published May 1, 2026. Roll call: Waugh — Aye; House — Aye; Meek — Aye.
The Board accepted a letter of resignation from Christy Householder-Brisley, part-time Dispatcher/Jailer, effective May 17, 2026.
To establish the Floodplain Appeal Board under Ordinance #2026-1, the Board approved appointments: Robert Waugh (Board of Supervisors member) through Dec. 31, 2028; Dale House (Board of Supervisors member) through Dec. 31, 2026; and Cameron McDowell (Farmington) through Dec. 31, 2027. The Board approved payroll and claims listed in the minutes and acknowledged one-year Manure Management Plan updates for five facilities (Dustin Unkrich; Luke Jaeger & BLEW Sky Enterprises, LLC; Brad Tedrow; Eldon Martin (Hill View Dairy); 5G Farms LLC).
