Town staff and board members noted the contract includes training steps and an onboarding sequence: the vendor will meet with a named contact and provide training for selected staff. One member said the change will require staff time to learn the system but will improve public access and compliance with state requirements.
Because the current contract expires July 1, the board directed the town office to contact CivicsPlus immediately to schedule the required meetings and trainings so service and support continue uninterrupted.
The board did not discuss contract price detail beyond noting an approximate 5% increase over the prior agreement and comparing it to regional providers; members said the cost was consistent with other municipal vendors and the upgrades justified the expense.
Next steps: the town manager’s office will finalize the contract and begin vendor onboarding and staff training.
