Regarding the prosecutor transfer, presenters said the prosecutor has an unfilled vacancy and proposes hiring a lower-cost summer intern to maintain operations through the summer. "He has a vacancy...he has an opportunity to have a summer intern which would be at a lower cost than an employee," the chair said when introducing the transfer; a motion was made and the council approved by voice vote with at least one abstention noted by a council member.
For the IT appropriation, the chair explained the request would be split equally between two accounts (funds 1112 and 1170) with $70,594 charged to each to fund a new IT contract. A member moved and seconded the appropriation; the motion passed by voice vote.
Both items were handled on the consent/regular business portion of the agenda and will be reflected in the county's financial records.
