Resident urges Spokane County to advance sobering and recovery center plans

Ian Robertson of Spokane Valley spoke during the open public forum to thank the board for its work on forming a sobering and recovery center and the earlier trip by county staff to review model programs.
Robertson said he appreciated what county staff and two county representatives had learned from a visit to Texas and referenced a past project with the Salvation Army. He asked to meet with Commissioner Waldrop or county staff to discuss next steps and offered suggestions based on recent work he observed in Alaska.
"I just want to say a big thank you for those of you of what you're doing as a group in the forming of the sobering and recovery center," Robertson said. He closed by saying he looked forward to working with the county and offering help.
The board thanked Robertson and said staff would follow up to provide information and next steps.
