Board recognizes six students with Youth Excellence and Achievement ‘Yay’ Awards

Katie, a Hillsborough County communications staffer, said the Board of County Commissioners recognized six outstanding students during the Oct. 15 meeting with the Board of County Commissioners Youth Excellence and Achievement Awards, known as the Yay Awards.
The program, now in its 15th year, honors young people for achievements in academics, community service and the performing arts. Awards were presented in categories including leadership, volunteer/community service and success despite difficult odds. The recap did not list the students' names or schools.
The board offered congratulations to recipients and observers were directed to the county's website for more information on county services and programs.
