District seeks renewals for Renaissance Star screener and attendance-notification software

Miss Casey described Renaissance Star (Renaissance 360) as the district’s universal screener for early identification and intervention in reading and math from pre-K through grade 11, and requested renewal for the 2026–27 school year at $238,413.40 funded through federal funds. "It provides data and tools for instruction... and supports differentiating tier 1 instruction and target interventions," she said.
Presenters Reyna Gallegos and Catherine Pena described the attendance-notification platform (attendance plus solutions core) that alerts parents after 3, 5, or 10 unexcused absences via email or text and coordinates interventions with campus staff and community stakeholders. Staff recommended renewal through the Central Texas Purchasing Alliance (CTPA) RFP for an estimated annual amount of $76,425 funded with local and Title funds; presenters said the district has used the platform for multiple years and the vendor upgrades the system annually at no additional cost.
Trustees asked about prior usage and whether the software was already in place; presenters confirmed this year’s request is a renewal and noted the system’s scalability and collaboration tools for preventing chronic absenteeism.
