The financial threshold for capitalizing equipment will increase to $10,000 effective July 1, and DP local will be split into DPA (minimum qualifications for principals) and DPB (minimum qualifications for counselors).
On gifted-and-talented policy (EHBB), Doctor Salinas said the district must no longer award extra points in selection matrices for race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status or disability, reflecting a new DEI-related requirement. The student-welfare policy (FFF local) was revised to add the term "alleged" to misconduct definitions and expand prohibited conduct to include "inappropriate communication with a student" and failure to maintain appropriate boundaries.
Doctor Salinas said red-line and clean copies of the changes will be provided in the board book and that the board will see the policies in the packet for formal consideration.
Trustees asked clarifying questions and Doctor Salinas confirmed the materials will be included in their board packets.
