Village staff said the design and construction management fee — $105,675 for design and $179,100 for construction management — is part of an estimated $4.6 million construction program. “This really is our kickoff year starting with design in 2026 and moving into construction in 2027,” staff member Matt told trustees, adding the fee represents roughly 6.2% of total construction cost.
Trustees asked whether the contract will be rebid annually and how the village will evaluate lessons learned after each phase. Matt said the village expects an annual contract process because each road section differs and staff plan to review outcomes after each construction phase: “There’ll definitely be that feedback loop throughout this whole process.”
The board approved the agreement pending final contract review by the village attorney.
Next steps include finalizing the Clark Deetsz contract and moving into design so construction can begin in 2027. The village said it will coordinate resident communications and post‑construction reviews to refine future phases.
