Board directs staff to start memorandum of understanding with Whitefish Bay School District after closed session

Whitefish Bay — The Village Board met in closed session May 18 under Wisconsin State Statute 1985 1E to deliberate negotiations concerning the Whitefish Bay School District’s use of parkland and the Northshore Municipal Court site.
After the closed session the board reconvened in open session and President Buckley said the board would not take immediate action but advised staff to begin working with the school district to draft a memorandum of understanding regarding a potential land-swap or use agreement. Staff (Kelsey and Director Jamie Felkner’s team) was directed to prepare materials for a future public agenda item so the topic can be discussed in the public realm.
No final vote on a land swap or other transfer was taken during the meeting; the president emphasized the intent to move the matter out of closed-session secrecy once staff has prepared a public MOU for future consideration.
