Whitefish Bay — The Village Board voted May 18 to award a contract for the library boiler replacement to Southport Mechanical for $199,249.
Staff said the project was included in the village’s capital improvement plan and that two bids were received, both below the CIP assumption of about $240,000. Mr. Collins presented the recommendation and the board approved the award on a voice vote.
The board asked whether potential future uses of the basement would affect system sizing; staff replied the system was sized to serve the current heated space and that the bids reflected the present scope. The village will execute the contract and proceed with project implementation under the CIP schedule.
What’s next: Departments will execute the contract with Southport Mechanical and schedule work; the project will be reported through normal CIP updates.
