At its May 21 meeting the Rapho Township Board of Supervisors heard routine public-safety reports, approved a multi-year website accessibility contract and approved the disbursement list before adjourning at 7:48 p.m.
Police: Chief Jason Riggle reported April activity that included 320 incidents, 3 criminal arrests, 23 traffic accidents, 47 traffic citations, 32 traffic warnings and 2 non-traffic citations. He said there were 19 UCR offenses of which 11 were cleared, a 58% clearance rate. Riggle announced the hiring of Seth Adomnik for an open officer position; Adomnik is scheduled to attend the Reading Police Academy on July 6, 2026. Riggle also said three applicants qualified for oral-board exams in June for an additional position and noted several recent crashes in the township; he reported no major issues during the Make‑A‑Wish Convoy.
Fire department: Andy Kirchner reported the Manheim Fire Department had 129 calls in the Feb–Apr 2026 quarter, 30 of them in Rapho Township, and 181 calls year to date in 2026. Average time per incident was 38 minutes; typical responder counts were six on the daytime shift, eight on nights and nine on weekends. Dan Reif summarized department finances and noted a ladder truck purchase approved at $2.2 million with a four‑year delivery; the department has $1.4 million saved and, including expected contributions, would need to save about $135,000 each of the next four years to close the funding gap. The rescue truck incurred $11,000 in repairs.
New business and fiscal items: The board approved an agreement with Revize Software Systems (Troy, Michigan) to update the township website to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and to provide an online reservation module at $5,260 per year for five years and $3,500 per year thereafter. The board also approved a reduction of financial security for RT#24-465 (Phil Hershey) to leave a balance of $9,263.31 as recommended by the Rettew letter revised May 8, 2026; the board approved the disbursement list and payment of bills before adjourning.
All recorded motions in the minutes passed with all supervisors present voting in favor.
