Willoughby-Eastlake board approves FY27 appropriations, contracts and partnership agreements

Energy procurement: The board approved a 42-month gas agreement with IGS beginning July 1, 2027; treasurer's presentation said the district locked a rate that will save about $35,000 per year, estimated at roughly $120,000 over the contract's life. That contract (item 7B) was approved 5-0.
Insurance and library budget: The board approved the liability, fleet and property insurance renewal (item 7C), described as the second of three phased increases tied to updated property valuations, and approved the East Lake Public Library 2027 budget request (item 7D), both by unanimous votes.
Grants, purchase orders and adult education: The treasurer reviewed the financial report for May and listed multiple routine items approved on consent, including an Ohio Department of Higher Education grant for adult education, establishment of the related account, purchase orders exceeding original amounts and student activity account adjustments. Board approved the consent calendar (item 11A) by roll call, 5-0.
Partnerships and personnel contracts: The board approved a lease with Lighthouse Media Services LLC in exchange for media production services (item 8C), memoranda and placement agreements with Case Western Reserve University and Western Governors University for student teaching and clinical placements, a construction trades apprenticeship pathway agreement with the Indiana-Kentucky-Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters, and a summer occupational therapy agreement with North Coast Therapy Associates LLC. Overnight trip requests for state qualifiers were also approved. All these items were approved by unanimous voice or roll-call votes.
