The commission’s vice chairman, Robert Hart, made the motion to pursue the MOD grant for playground design; Chairman Christopher Gaudet seconded and members present voted to approve the application. The vote followed an agenda item listing two grant requests the commission entertained: one from the Cemetery Commission for a $3,000 grant to make the cemetery office door accessible, and one to fund playground design at Sweetsir School. The minutes record that members agreed to apply for the playground grant; they do not record a motion to apply for the cemetery grant.
The meeting also covered updates on previously discussed projects. The minutes note a $50,000 earmark intended to refinish the basketball court surface and add accessible access points at Donaghue School remains unreleased. Separately, the commission reported that curb-cut work funded by a $30,000 MOD grant is expected to be completed by the end of June.
