Board honors retirees and hears student leaders’ end‑of‑year updates

The Lawrence Township Board of Education spent the opening portion of its June 10 meeting recognizing district retirees and hearing end‑of‑year updates from student peer leaders.
The board presented gifts and took photographs with retirees who were publicly thanked for long service to the district; several retirees were named during the recognition, including staff with 17 and 25 years of service. "I'm so grateful for the impact you've all made," Superintendent Dr. Robin Klim said while addressing the retirees and wider community.
Student peer leaders also presented. Aiznoah Kimin (class of 2027) and Caitlin Grimes announced class officer election results for the classes of 2027, 2028 and 2029 and summarized recent NHS elections. Students reviewed AP and honors resource sessions held June 4–10, described textbook and summer assignment distributions, and announced upcoming events: the senior prom (with a car‑crash simulation to discourage drunk driving) and Juneteenth celebrations on June 17 and 18 featuring the LHS gospel choir and a panel organized with the Black Student Union.
Board members thanked the student presenters and extended wishes for a restful summer to the community. The meeting proceeded to committee reports and consent business after the recognitions.
