Whitefish Bay board honors departing trustee, approves payment and enters closed session

Whitefish Bay Village Board — April 7, 2025 — The Village Board adopted Resolution 3179, expressing appreciation for Dr. J. Balachandran’s three years as a village trustee and highlighting his service on the library board and with the Northshore Health Department. Board members offered personal thanks during a brief recognition moment.
Dr. Balachandran said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve and that the experience had been educational. “I’ve learned a ton,” he told colleagues, and said he expected to remain engaged with public-health efforts in the community.
Later in the meeting the board voted to convene in closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) to deliberate and negotiate public-property and contract matters related to a development agreement with a Silver Spring merchant and a utility contractor. After returning to open session, trustees moved and approved payment to Mid City Corporation for past invoices in the amount of $151,057.92.
The meeting adjourned following those actions.
